Invitation to Membership
In this, the fiftieth anniversary of the Munier Orchestra's founding, we are pleased
to invite qualified mandolinists, mandola players, mandocellists, and classical guitar
players to join our ranks. There are openings in all sections, especially in those that
feature the lower-voiced instruments. Our repertoire has traditionally included Italian
light classical, operatic selections, show tunes, folk music of many nations, but is
readily expandable to accommodate current player interests and ability. There are
opportunities for soloists as well as for small ensembles to perform with the orchestra,
or in conjunction with an orchestral concert.
Our season usually runs from September to June and we rehearse in southwest Philadelphia
on Monday evenings. Concerts most often occur on Sunday afternoons but the schedule is
irregular. There is of course no payment for performance.
If you read music, play at least moderately well and would enjoy the opportunity to
participate in an ensemble of experienced musicians committed to the perfection of the
art of classical mandolin and guitar performance, please contact us and arrange to visit
during one of our rehearsals. Call any of the following for details:
Orchestra President and Mandolinist Dr. Andrew DeMasi
(856) 429-3074
Assistant Conductor and Guitarist Robert Henry
